There was a small pond on the refuge where a number of Western Greebes were swimming late in the day. There was no direct sunlight, so using flash to light the scene, I photographed this bird. The reeds and grasses surrounding the pond created the coloration in the water. Camera was a Canon 20D and Canon 500mm f4 lens with Canon1.4x teleconverter. Flash was a Canon 580 EX all mounted on a Gitzo 1348 tripod.
